Directed by Koumarane Valavane featuring Abhay as the protagonist Flt. Lft. Ajay Deshpande.

 

The stories we tell to our children speak of heroes who are capable of always being right, always courageous and always truthful.The play had its international premiered at Les Francophonies festival in Limoges, France followed by shows at Le140 in Brussels, Belgium and 2 weeks run at Theatre du soleil, Paris.

Khwaab Sa

An adaptation of A Midsummer's Night Dream, directed by Atul Kumar opened at Taiwan International Theatre Festival and is currently touring internationally.

 

Abhay interprets Bottom in the play.

Performed at BENEVENTO THEATRE FESTIVAL, ITALY.

 

It is about a group of friends who have renounced theatre — with no costumes, plot and sets at their disposal. This play bagged the best play award at the UNIVERSO TEATRO ITALY.

A Friend's Story

an interpretation of acclaimed Indian playwright Vijay Tendulkar’s Mitrachi Gosha was performed all over India as well at the SHAKESPEARE’S GLOBE, London in 2017.

 

The play is a stark commentary on love - both hetero - and homo - sexual. It tells a complex story of friendship and unrequited love interwoven in a web of jealousy, obsession and betrayal.

 

Abhay played the character of Baapu.

  • Awarded best actor at Sawai Abhineta – a state level award conferred to theatre artistes in 2009.
     

  • Won Best Adapted Playwright Award at Thespo, Theatre Awards in 2008.
     

Abhay has worked  with renowned directors like ATUL KUMAR, AKASH KHURANA, MOHIT TAKALKAR, SANDESH KULKARNI, SUNIL SHANBAG, NIPUN DHARMADHIKARI, AALOK RAJWADE.

 

He has also acted in plays performed at several festivals such as Writers Bloc Festival, Prithvi Theatre Festival in India and is a founding member of Natak Company - a renowned theatre group in Pune, Maharashtra
